The only survivor of the Nostromo, Warrant Officer Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), is found 57 years later floating in her escape pod. She's awoken from cryostasis to find that the planet her ordeal started on has now been colonised. When all contact with the colony stops she is sent to the planet with a bunch of hardened marines and a lot of firepower. Once there she realises how easy she had it 57 years ago; can the hardest group of humans fend off the alien hoard?
